“Higher Learning for You and Your Dog”

Obedience is the ground work for any discipline a handler may wish to participate in with their dog. More than seeing the dog perform a set of tasks as given by the handler, correctly approached obedience opens the window to first learn the necessary skills of communication.
This instilment of communication skills relies upon both dog and handler, each learning to communicate with each other openly and honestly, on a common plane. The bonding of dog and handler derived from this process will be evident in every facet of work they may engage as a Team.

By arriving at an understanding of proper communication, one founded on the principles of praise, positive reinforcement, and achievement, using negative reinforcement or correction only when necessary, both dog and handler have a clearer picture of acceptable and non-acceptable behavior.
The result: the handler and dog become a Team and begin to perceive each other as their Partner, while maintaining established parameters of leadership.
